Despite the vast intellectual wasteland that is Twitter, there are gems to be discovered from time to time. Twitter is touted as a social networking site, but it has quickly morphed into a business networking site, because it is so popular with businesses (and pro-bloggers) as a way to get word out about their websites or products.
If you own a WordPress blog, you can easily find dozens of plugins that will automatically publish your blog feed to Twitter. Blogger bloggers have been very limited with their options. However, I have some good news for you: you can automatically publish your blog posts to Twitter using Twitterfeed. You must create an account at Twitterfeed to have your blog posts published. And you must know your blog’s feed url.
How to Auto Publish Your Blogger Blog to Twitter with Twitterfeed
Note: Twitterfeed will auto-publish any blog, be it Blogger, WordPress, Typepad, or anything!
1. Go to Twitterfeed and sign up for an account. Registering is free.
2. After you have signed up, look for the link that says “Create a Feed.” Click it.
3. Fill in the information. If you have several blogs, as I do, you will want to name each feed after the blog, so you don’t later get confused by similar-sounding feeds. I named my feed for my Blogger blog after the blog name: New York Traveler @ Blogger.

4. Enter the feed url. You may have Twitterfeed verify its existence, to be sure you have the url correct. Click “test rss feed.” If you see “Feed parsed OK,” then you are good to go.
5. Now, you could leave it at this and you’d be all set, but Twitterfeed offers you some additional features. Click “Advanced Settings” and see what’s there.

6. You can add a hashtag to your feed, or some cute phrase or whatever. I added the hashtags #newyork and #travel to mine, to generate more interest and traffic.

7. On the next page, Twitterfeed lists some of the popular social networking sites (Twitter, Facebook, etc) to publish your feed. Click the link “Twitter.” Type in your Twitter username. Twitterfeed will need to authenticate your Twitter username and password. You must give Twitterfeed permission to transmit data through your Twitter account.
8. After Twitterfeed has authenticated your Twitter account, the page will reload back to the Twitterfeed page. Click the link “Create Service” at the bottom. You are done! Your blog feeds should begin publishing immediately.

TIP: Twitterfeed will keep track of clicks made to your blog from the Twitter feed link. Sign in to Twitterfeed, and go to the Dashboard (the link is at the top of the page). Look under your feeds and if your tweet has received any clicks, it will display. You can also add more blog feeds at the Dashboard.
In Summary
1. Go to Twitterfeed. Create a new account.
2. Add your blog feed name and url. Configure Advanced Settings, if desired.
3. Add your Twitter account. Allow Twitterfeed to authenticate your Twitter account. Click “Create Service.”
4. Manage your blog feed(s) through the Twitterfeed Dashboard.

Thanks! That is great info. Will this – or should this replace our tweets on the posts itself? If so, it will save a lot of time, and being able to combine things so that it happens automatically is a GREAT thing. I will give it a try.
