Chetan Kapur Focuses On Niche Topics And New Authors

Big box stores dominate the market these days, and bookstores are no exception. The vast majority of books are purchased at big name stores, with “mom and pop” book shops becoming few and far between. The large retail chains use sales volume to sell books for lower prices, which edge out the smaller independent book retailers. Despite this, Chetan Kapur has a chain of small, independent book stores outside of Oklahoma City, all of which have been successful through the recent economic struggles.

Chetan Kapur Provides Imports And Hard To Find Titles

Customers are often subjected to special orders or expensive international shipping to get that elusive book they’ve been trying to find. Chetan Kapur saw this gap in product availability, and filled it with his Oklahoma book stores. From first editions to foreign language versions, customers are sure to find a mecca of intriguing and esoteric selections.
“It’s our hope that our stores will help the public experience more than mainstream fiction. Some of the best books I’ve ever read have been one-off titles that none of my friends had ever heard of. My hobby and passion is to help people widen their reading horizons every day,” said Chetan Kapur.
